Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has opened up on why she left Nigeria and the movie industry.

While speaking with Morayo Afolabi Brown on her TV show, she opened up on motherhood, legacy, confronting the last and more.

Bukky disclosed that she left Nigeria because of her children and would do it again. She apologised to her fans, supporters and lovers for leaving them heartbroken when she quit the industry.

“I left this country many years ago because of my children, and I will do it over and over again if I had to.

At this point, I think I have to apologise. I am so sorry I left you guys without letting you know. Mama duty called.

Bukky also spoke on the inspiration for her first cinema movie, Omatara Johnson. She disclosed that her fans were asking for the movie, hence why she did it.

The veteran said she didn’t tell people she was working on a new movie because she has learnt that things manifest better when one keeps it to one’s heart.

“I didn’t tell people I was coming back. A lot of people didn’t know I was shooting because I have learnt something: what you keep to your heart manifests better.

Thanks to my son and my team; they pulled the marketing strategy together”.

Recall that two years ago, Bukky made her fans go wild with joy as she returned to the screen after taking a break from the industry. Sharing a teaser of the new film, the project director noted how people asked for Bukky Wright to be among the cast, and she headed to their calls.

In a previous interview, the light-skinned veteran recalled how her children were taken away from her when they were young because she married into a wealthy family. Bukky said her in-laws never thought she would amount to anything or become a star. According to the veteran, she started acting so that her children could find her when they grew up.

Recall that in 2014, Bukky’s four-year marriage to Adewale Onitiri had crashed. According to reports, the crack in their marriage became wider due to the former couple’s distance. The reports further claimed that Bukky’s escapades in Lagos while her husband was in New Jersey were the final straw for their marriage.

The famous actress was also married to Gboyega Amu (father of her two sons), a well known Journalist Femi Davies, then Bolaji Basia.

In an interview, the delectable actress, who has been married four times, revealed that she was open to giving marriage a fifth chance. She, however, made it known that if God forbade her from getting married, she wouldn’t.

In February, last year, Bukky Wright, during a discussion with Teju Baby Face, spoke about her battles with depression. She disclosed how she was on depression medication to help curb the killing issue, and her children had to step in and help her overcome the problem. The versatile actress gushed over her children, calling them her first critique and pillar.
