Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has declared support for the Rainbow Coalition, a political movement bringing together members of different political parties in the state under the leadership of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for a medical consumables manufacturing facility in Rivers State, Fubara said the political crisis that had engulfed the state was over, stressing that peace and unity must now take precedence.
The governor endorsed President Bola Tinubu as his preferred presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections and also threw his weight behind Kingsley China as the coalition’s preferred governorship candidate.
He urged his supporters to align with the Rainbow Coalition and vote for all candidates presented on its platform in the 2027 elections.
Fubara said the state had moved beyond political divisions and called on stakeholders to work together in the interest of development, maintaining that lasting peace was essential for attracting investment and delivering democratic dividends to the people of Rivers State.
