A video of controversial Nigerian entertainer DJ Chicken from inside the Kirikiri Correctional Centre has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many Nigerians commenting on his noticeably subdued appearance.
The clip, which surfaced online on Monday, was reportedly recorded during a visit by some of the entertainer’s associates following his remand in custody.
In the video, DJ Chicken appeared unusually quiet, calm and reserved, a sharp contrast to the energetic and outspoken personality for which he is widely known on social media.
The footage was shared on TikTok by one of his associates, @ayomido27, who captioned the post:
“Very humble. See as my baby humble.”
The video quickly gained traction across several social media platforms, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), where users shared mixed reactions to the entertainer’s appearance.
Many users joked that prison had humbled the controversial content creator, while others used the opportunity to caution people about the consequences of reckless behaviour.
One X user, @MyraBryt, wrote:
“Survival instinct kicks in immediately. Once wahala show face, humility becomes the first language.”
Another user, Habeeb Twolly Messi, advised Nigerians to avoid situations that could lead to imprisonment.
“Whatever you are doing, make sure you don’t enter prison. It’s worse than being broke,” he wrote.
Similarly, @FACTspu observed that the entertainer looked noticeably different from his usual self.
“This guy come humble pass before.”

Another user, @RANDOMPINPPP, argued that anyone who has experienced detention would understand the sudden change in attitude.
“Most of you never reach station before. Once you reach station like this all power belong to the force already. Even police woman or man wey no get level go use you shine.”
Some users, however, expressed sympathy for the entertainer and called for support.
