The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has issued a bench warrant against the self-acclaimed Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, after failing to appear in court for his arraignment over alleged certificate forgery, fraud and impersonation.
Adeniyi was arraigned on Tuesday before Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on an eight-count charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025.
Despite the case being listed as number 12 on the court’s cause list, the defendant was absent when the matter was called.
This prompted the court’s order for his arrest.
According to reports, the charges against Adeniyi and two others were filed on November 27, 2025, by police prosecutor, Wisdom Madaki.
Witnesses expected to testify in the case include the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, alongside Paul Emmanuel, Jeremiah Imoukhede and Ituah Sylvester.
Also listed are civil servants from the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, including Akimbo Shola and Adamu Balongu, as well as a Deputy Superintendent of Police.
NPO Reported that Adeniyi had earlier stated in a television interview disclosed that his withdrawal from public appearance was due to alleged threats to his life.
He denied claims that he was evading law enforcement agencies over his alleged involvement in the PFIPC fraud.
The suspect also alleged that he borrowed the N400 million he paid through a proxy to the Chief of Staff to secure his appointment as Director-General of the disputed agency.
According to him, individuals from whom he borrowed the funds have since dragged him before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
