The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing targeting a Pakistan Coast Guards camp in Balochistan’s Gwadar district. The separatist group alleged that more than 30 paramilitary personnel were killed and several others were injured in the attack.

According to a statement issued by the BLA, an explosives-filled vehicle was driven into the Panwan Coast Guard base in Jiwani. The group described the strike as a suicide vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (SVBIED) attack carried out as part of a planned operation, according to News18.

The BLA claimed that the powerful explosion destroyed the Coast Guards camp. In its statement, spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said the blast turned the heavily fortified camp into rubble. The group also said its armed unit, known as the Fateh Squad, launched a follow-up assault on the damaged camp from multiple directions immediately after the explosion.

What did the BLA claim after the attack?

The BLA alleged that more than 30 members of the Pakistani paramilitary forces were killed in the attack, while dozens of others suffered serious injuries. The group also claimed that the number of casualties could rise because several personnel were reportedly trapped under the rubble and many of the injured were in critical condition.

However, these claims have not been independently verified. Pakistani authorities have not confirmed the reported death toll or released an official statement on the incident so far.

Did the BLA release a video of the attack?

The BLA’s media wing, Hakkal, also released a 43-second video that it claimed showed the attack. The footage reportedly captures an explosives-laden truck entering the Coast Guards camp moments before a massive explosion and fireball.

The authenticity of the video has not been independently verified.
