Nigerian singer Ycee criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress during a livestream with content creator Carter Efe on Thursday night, describing the performance of both the current and previous administrations as deeply disappointing.
He expressed particular concern over the continued kidnapping of children and attacks on schools in 2026, questioning how Nigeria can hope to build future leaders if children are unable to access safe education.
Ycee referenced recent abductions in Borno and Oyo States as examples of the worsening security situation affecting the country.
Amid ongoing economic hardship and persistent banditry, the singer urged Nigerians to actively participate in the 2027 general elections, stressing the importance of using the ballot to demand better governance.
He also appeared to suggest he would steer clear of collaborating with artists perceived to be affiliated with the APC, signaling a deliberate distancing from political associations within his creative work.
“APC has done a terrible job, this administration and the previous administration are very terrible” – Singer Ycee
