The 2023 Labour Party’s Vice Presidential candidate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, has revealed being displeased with Peter Obi over his inaction and failure to sustain their political struggle after the 2023 Presidential election.
Datti accused the former Labour Party presidential candidate of letting go and accepting defeat at the poll.
The Baze University founder made accusation while speaking on Naija Unfiltered podcast on Wednesday.
Datti expressed admonition for President Bola Tinubu who he claimed to have defended and carried on the June 12 political struggle till his emergence as president.
“What you call democracy day is 12th of June. One of June 12 people is president because he didn’t let go.
“Why was not so happy with Peter Obi to the extent I said take Kwankwaso, El-Rufai and go? It is because I was not happy with him. How can you let go?
“I like the people who protect their rights and you must give it to Tinubu’s people. They defended their right for 33 years.” He said.
Though accusing the Tinubu-led administration of trangressing on Nigerians’ right, Datti hailed his perserverance and doggedeness in sustaining the political struggle wihout any breach.
“But in defending their rights, they also transgressed the right of other Nigerians. Peter Obi threw it away. His people let it go.
“Up till now, I’m the only person still talking about constitutional breach. Imagine June 12 people you breached their effectuation, nobody in the western hemisphere will sleep. They will chase you and get it back.”n He said.
The Labour Party reiterated his preference for one who protect his rights as against those who let go.
“I like people like that, but I don’t like it they are doing injustice.
“The bottom line is he who will protect his right and fight for it is never the same as he who will let go.” He added.
