The family of late Nollywood actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, has decried struggle two years after his demise.

Stella Okafor, wife of the late veteran actor, recounted the family’s ordeal during an interview with social media influencer, King Mitchy.

Okafor, in a video of the interview shared on X on Thursday, disclosed being unable to pay their house rent and been without power for the last two months.

This forced the woman and her three kids to fetch water from nearby well while charging their phones at neighbours’ compound.

“It’s because I’ve not paid my house rent. They even cut my light two months now.

“Every night, we go to look for where to charge.” She said.

Okafor also disclosed that she is yet to pay the children’s school fees with the youngest child currently withdrawn from school.

“Today, the school even sent me a message.” She said.

The wife of the late actor pleaded for assistance from Nigerians as she called her account details which read ‘1875776454, Stella Okarfor, Access Bank’.

Also speaking was Mr. Ibu’s 14-year-old daughter who hailed her mother for her efforts in providing for the family.

“Basically, I want to thank God for my Mom. She tries everything she can to feed us and make us happy.” She said.

Meanwhile, the teenager expressed her desire to follow her late father’s footstep in acting.

NPO Reported that Mr. Ibu passed away on the 2nd of March 2024 after prolonged illness.

Prior to his death, the actor had his leg amputated in a bid to save his life
