Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have neutralised two suspected Lakurawa terrorists and recovered weapons during an operation in Kebbi State.
According to Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force (North West) Operation Fansan Yamma, troops acted on intelligence that terrorists were planning to attack Sabarumawa community.
He said personnel of the Chief of Army Staff Intervention Battalion 7 mounted a tactical ambush and engaged the terrorists in a firefight.
The operation resulted in the death of two terrorists, while others fled into the forest.
Danja said troops recovered AK-47 rifles, magazines, 143 rounds of ammunition and a motorcycle from the scene.
He added that the military would sustain offensive operations against terrorists and other criminal elements operating across the North-West.
