Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Jeddah Tower project is moving ahead rapidly and is now approaching its final upper sections. According to reports, construction has already reached close to the 104th floor, with the tower standing more than 400 metres tall.
Taller Than Dubai’s Burj Khalifa

Once completed, Jeddah Tower is expected to rise above 1,000 metres (3,281 feet), making it the tallest building in the world. It will surpass Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, which currently holds the record at 828 metres.

The skyscraper was designed by renowned architects Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill. Interestingly, Adrian Smith was also the chief architect behind the design of Burj Khalifa, the world’s current tallest building.

Jeddah Tower is more than just a record-breaking project. It is a central part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy, which aims to reduce the country’s dependence on oil and boost tourism, business, and investment. The tower will be the centerpiece of the 5.3 million-square-metre Jeddah Economic City development.
Groundbreaking Engineering and 2028 Completion Target

The tower is expected to be completed by August 2028 and will have at least 167 floors, with more than 130 floors designed for residential and commercial use. One of its most remarkable engineering achievements is the plan to pump concrete to a height of over one kilometre, something never attempted on this scale before. The design also includes a special “sky raft” system to provide additional support and stability to the tower’s uppermost sections.
