The Delta State Police Command has arrested a man identified as Adedamola Micheal Oyewole for stabbing and beheading his girlfriend in Edjeba, Warri.
Oyewole was arrested after the woman was found dead in his apartment with multiple stab wounds, including injuries to her throat, on the 23rd of June.
The victim was said to have travelled from Abuja to visit the suspect and had placed a distress call to to her friend.
NPO Reports learnt that the landlord alarmed by the cries, alerted security operatives who responded promptly to the scene.
Upon arrival and a search of the apartment, police allegedly discovered the lifeless body of the woman bearing severe injuries.
The corpse was subsequently evacuated and deposited in a mortuary, while the suspect was arrested and taken into custody for questioning.
The Delta State Police Command confirmed the arrest of the suspect and said investigations into the incident are ongoing.
