The Plateau Ministry of Lands, Survey and Town Planning has issued 6,116 Certificates of Occupancy (CofOs) and 6,846 Rights of Occupancy (RofOs) to land owners in the last three years.
Mr Peter Gai, the Commissioner in the ministry disclosed this during a press conference on Thursday in Jos.
Gai said that the number surpassed the record in the eight years of the previous administration.
He explained that the figure recorded was made possible due to the innovations, resilience and commitment of staff of the ministry for excellence.
“In the last three years of this administration, we have issued 6,116 CofOs. The previous administration issued a little above 8,000 in eight years.
“In the area of RofO, we have processed and issued 6,846 as against the 3,995 issued by the last administration,” Gai said.
The commissioner said further that 500 more CofOs had been processed and were awaiting the governor’s signature.
He added that the ministry would continue to deliver on the mandate of the current administration by providing quality service to people in the state.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
