Peter Obi Has No Clear Idea of What He Intends to Do for Nigeria — Presidency

Peter Obi and Daniel Bwala

Daniel Bwala, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has claimed that the 2027 NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has no clear idea of what he intends to do for Nigeria.

Bwala made the remark in a post on X while criticising Obi over comments attributed to him on fuel subsidy removal, state policing, and foreign exchange reforms.

According to the presidential aide, Obi has repeatedly reversed his position on key national policies after the Tinubu administration implemented similar reforms.

“It looks like he doesn’t have a clear idea of what he intends to do for Nigeria,” Bwala wrote.

He also alleged that Obi reacts negatively whenever the country records progress under the current administration.

“I don’t know why every time Nigeria makes progress, it angers Peter Obi. Why?

“It is the same Nigeria he is trying to govern in his wild goose chase.”

Bwala argued that before the 2023 presidential election, Obi had promised to remove fuel subsidy, establish state police and unify the foreign exchange market, but has now taken a different position on those issues.

“Before the 2023 elections, he promised to take away the subsidy; we did, and now he is saying he won’t. He said he would make state police; we did, but now he’s saying he won’t.

The presidential spokesman maintained that Obi’s alleged shift in position raises questions about the consistency of his policy agenda.
