Nigerian actor Joseph Momodu has marked a deeply personal milestone after successfully completing Basic Combat Training and officially becoming a Specialist, SPC, in the United States Army.

Sharing the news on social media, Momodu revealed that on April 12, 2026, he honoured the memory of his late father a former Nigerian Police Force officer by enlisting into the United States Army exactly 20 years after his passing.

“Today, it is official: Specialist (SPC) J.A. Momodu, United States Army, 1st Platoon, Charlie Company, 3-10, 3rd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri,” he announced.

The actor dedicated the achievement to God, his late father, and the Royal Family of Oba Momodu II of the Avyuele Clan, Agbede, Etsako West, Edo State, describing the feat as a continuation of a legacy his father began.

He also credited passing his ASVAB examination on the first attempt and successfully completing Basic Combat Training as key steps in achieving the milestone.
