Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has been named LaLiga Player of the Season for the 2025/26 campaign, capping off an outstanding year in which he played a central role in the club’s title-winning run.
The 18-year-old enjoyed a remarkable season under coach Hansi Flick, contributing 16 league goals and 11 assists as Barcelona secured the Spanish top-flight title.
The club celebrated the honour by highlighting his consistent ability to influence matches through dribbling, goals, and creativity.
The award adds to what has been a breakthrough campaign for the La Masia academy product, who has established himself as one of the most influential players in LaLiga and among the most exciting young talents in world football.
Yamal’s 16-league goal tally represented his highest-scoring season in the Spanish top flight to date, and he shared the Zarra Trophy with Barcelona teammate Ferran Torres in recognition of his contributions.
His individual award was part of a wider celebration for the club, with coach Hansi Flick claiming the Coach of the Season honour and goalkeeper Joan Garcia winning the Save of the Season prize, underlining Barcelona’s dominance both collectively and individually throughout the campaign.
The recognition makes Yamal the second consecutive Barcelona player to be named LaLiga Player of the Season, following Raphinha’s victory in the previous year.
