A federal judge has ordered Jimmie Allen to pay nearly $1.8 million to one of the women who accused him of sexual assault.
The ruling, issued Thursday, June 18, came after Allen failed to respond in the lawsuit filed by Jane Doe 2. The woman sued the country singer in June 2023, accusing him of sexual assault, invasion of privacy, and emotional distress.
Judge Aleta A. Trauger entered a default judgment for “assault, invasion of privacy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.” Allen, 41, was ordered to pay nearly $597,000 in compensatory damages and roughly $1.2 million in “punitive damages.”
The judge wrote that the “reprehensibility” of Allen’s alleged conduct was “severe.” According to the court documents, “The evidence shows that Mr. Allen intentionally and surreptitiously filmed his sexual encounter with plaintiff without her consent.”
The documents also said the accuser suffered “extreme emotional distress and trauma.”
Jane Doe 2 filed the lawsuit after claiming Allen filmed a sexual encounter without permission and continued sexual contact after she withdrew consent. The case followed another 2023 lawsuit from Allen’s former manager, who accused him of assault and sexual abuse over 18 months.
Allen denied the woman’s allegations, saying they had a consensual relationship and calling her claims untrue. That case was later dropped after both sides reached a “mutual accord.”
