Gunmen kill popular Ogun broadcaster, Kitan Oyesiku

Kitan Oyesiku, a former staff member of Ogun State Television (OGTV) popularly known as “Aunty Kitan,” has been killed by unidentified gunmen at her residence in Agodo community along the Abeokuta-Siun-Sagamu expressway in Ogun state.

The attackers also killed her security guard during the incident, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday.

Sources familiar with the development said the tragic discovery was made after church members became concerned when Oyesiku failed to attend a church service.

According to a community source, the worshippers visited her residence to check on her welfare and were met with a shocking scene.

The source disclosed that the security guard was found dead on the premises before Oyesiku’s body was also discovered, prompting residents to raise an alarm.

The remains of the deceased have reportedly been deposited at the State Hospital mortuary in Ijaiye, Abeokuta.

Confirming the incident, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the spokesperson of the Ogun state police command said the command was aware of the killings and would issue an official statement after preliminary investigations.

The late Oyesiku was a respected broadcaster who served with the state-owned television station before retiring from active service.
