The Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has expressed confidence in securing his re-election bid at the ongoing 2026 governorship election in the state.

Oyebanji described the election as a day of harvest for him.

The governor made this known while addressing newsmen at his residence shortly after casting his vote at his polling unit.

Oyebanji, in his interview with newsmen, held that he has nothing to fear as he had over the past four years worked diligently for the people of Ekiti state.

“There is a saying that a farmer who have diligently tilled the ground have no cause to fear in the day of harvest.

“We’ve campaigned in Ekiti. We’ve been in service for four years and served diligently.

“Today is the day of harvest. Those who have not done anything; who have not sown anything have every cause to fear.” He said.

On the conduct of the election, Oyebanji commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Nigeria Police Force over the coordination of the election.

He however admitted to the Biomodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machine technical glitches experienced across the state.

“In all processes, they will be glitches. But I have appealed to my people to be patient with them.

“It is not possible not to have any glitches. But overall, I give them a very pass mark- both INEC and the security agencies.” The governor said.
