The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has urged registered voters in Ekiti State to come out and of exercise their franchise at the 2026 governorship election in the state.
INEC made the call in a post shared on its X handle on Friday ahead of the election slated to hold tomorrow.
The commission harped on the need to vote at the election, stressing that the residents’ vote plays crucial role in determining the future of the state.
“The future will remember your choice. On Saturday, 20th June 2026, make your voice count in the Ekiti Governorship Election.
“Your vote is more than a mark on a ballot, it’s a decision that shapes the future of your community and generations to come. Be present. Be counted. Vote responsibly.” INEC wrote.
The commission further noted that participation in the election shape the future of the communities and children.
“History does not honour spectators; it remembers participants.
“On Election day, the decision cast at the ballot will shape the future of our communities, children, and state.” INEC added.
The commission announced that voting will commence from 8:30am and end by 2:30pm.
Ahead of the election, INEC had on Thursday distributed materials to officials.
The commission had also earlier released the total number of registered voters who have collected their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) and are eligible to vote.
According to INEC, a total of 1.02 million have collected their PVCs ahead of the election.
