Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro could be on his way out of Italy this summer after attracting serious interest from clubs in the German Bundesliga, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 21-year-old spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Pisa SC, where he impressed with his performances in the Italian top flight. Akinsanmiro featured in 24 Serie A matches and became an important part of Pisa’s midfield during their campaign.
His displays may have attracted attentions from abroad. According to reports from Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport via Bulinews, Bundesliga side Werder Bremen are considering making a formal move for the former Nigerian youth international.
However, Bremen are not alone in the race. Borussia Monchengladbach are also closely monitoring the midfielder’s situation and could enter negotiations with Inter Milan in the coming weeks.
Interest in Akinsanmiro extends beyond Germany. Fellow Serie A club Bologna have reportedly made inquiries about the player’s availability, while several Premier League clubs are said to be keeping tabs on developments ahead of the summer transfer window.

A permanent return to Pisa initially appeared to be the most likely outcome for Akinsanmiro following a decent loan spell.
The Tuscan club had look to activate a purchase option worth €7.5 million after being convinced by the midfielder’s performances throughout the season. The deal would have allowed Pisa to retain one of their standout players ahead of the new campaign.
However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that the move collapsed at the final stage due to a bureaucratic error and disagreements between the clubs during the exchange of final documents.
As a result, Akinsanmiro will return to Inter Milan, where he remains under a long-term contract believed to run until at least 2029.
The failed transfer has unexpectedly strengthened Inter’s position. Rather than accepting the original €7.5 million fee, the Nerazzurri are now reportedly seeking as much as €10 million for the Nigerian midfielder.
With Bremen and Monchengladbach showing concrete interest and Bologna still monitoring the situation, Akinsanmiro’s future is far from clear at the moment.
Italian reports suggest a move to Germany currently appears more likely than another stay in Serie A, with Bundesliga clubs leading the chase for the highly-rated midfielder as Inter look to maximize his growing market value.
