An earthquake of magnitude 5.6 ⁠struck Bhutan ⁠on Sunday, with its epicenter located 26 km from Gangtok and 87 km from Thimphu, according to the German Research Centre ⁠for ‌Geosciences (GFZ).

The earthquake, recorded at a depth of 10 km, sent tremors across the Himalayan region, with shaking felt in India, China, Nepal and Bangladesh.
