Super Eagles midfielder Christantus Uche could be set for a departure from Getafe this summer, with significant interest mounting from clubs across Europe’s top five leagues, Soccernet.ng reports.
Uche is returning to Getafe following a disappointing loan spell at Crystal Palace. He joined the Premier League side on a season-long loan last summer that included a conditional obligation-to-buy clause.
The clause required him to make ten Premier League starts to trigger a permanent move; however, he failed to make a single start under coach Oliver Glasner. Since the beginning of 2026, he has managed only 172 minutes of competitive football across all competitions for the Eagles.
The reason for his lack of minutes was inexplicable, as Uche looked decent in most of the games he featured in.
Now, while Uche is officially set to return to Getafe, his long-term future remains uncertain even with two years left in his contract at the club. Getafe president Ángel Torres has also fueled speculation by admitting that the club is open to selling the 23-year-old should a suitable offer arrive this summer.
Christantus Uche Attracting Interest From Several Clubs Abroad
Although a return to Getafe is imminent, Uche’s stay may be brief. This comes as Everton and Real Betis have been named as potential destinations, albeit nothing concrete has emerged just yet.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that AC Milan have entered the race for the Super Eagles star. The 19-time Serie A champions previously expressed interest last summer but failed to secure his signature.
The Rossoneri have renewed their interest as they look to reshape their squad under new head coach Rúben Amorim. It remains to be seen, however, if the Italian giants will formalize their pursuit of the former Ceuta player.
Getafe have set an asking price of approximately €15 million — a valuation which most of his suitors can comfortably match. With the transfer market still open for a few months, it will be interesting to see where Uche ends in the end.
