THE Senator-elect for Enugu North Senatorial district, Ikeje Asogwa, has assured the people of the district of quality, inclusive and people-oriented representation following their overwhelming support in the Saturday bye-election.

Asogwa, in a message of appreciation issued after his victory on Sunday, described the outcome of the election as a clear demonstration of the confidence the people have in his leadership and the shared vision of a more prosperous and united Enugu North Senatorial Zone.

Expressing profound gratitude to voters across the six Council Areas of the district, the senator-elect said the massive support he received was not merely an electoral victory but a solemn responsibility to serve with integrity, diligence and humility.

“The massive votes cast in my favour and that of our great party are not only a resounding mandate, but also a clear demonstration of your belief in our shared vision for a greater, more prosperous, and more inclusive Enugu North Senatorial zone,” he said

He thanked residents for their solidarity, prayers, endorsements and sacrifices throughout the campaign, noting that their unwavering support culminated in what he described as a historic electoral success.

Asogwa equally appreciated Gov. Peter Mbah, whom he described as his leader and mentor, commending the governor’s leadership, commitment to peace, unity and development, which he said inspired confidence among the electorate.

He equally acknowledged the contributions of the Deputy Governor, Mr Ifeanyi Ossai, party leaders at all levels, local government chairmen, stakeholders, traditional rulers and religious leaders for their roles in the successful outcome of the election.

The senator-elect also congratulated other contestants in the by-election, describing their participation as an important contribution to democratic growth.

Calling for unity after the election, Asogwa urged political actors and residents to put partisan interests aside and work together for the development of the senatorial district.

“There is no victor and no vanquished; the true winner is Enugu North Senatorial Zone,” he stated.

He dedicated the victory to the resilient people of Enugu North and paid tribute to the late Okey Ezea, describing him as a worthy son of the district who lost his life while serving the people.

Asogwa said the victory also represents an important milestone for his party and provides a solid foundation for greater achievements in the future.

Acknowledging the high expectations that accompany his election, the senator-elect pledged to provide effective legislative representation.

He also said he would attract meaningful development projects, protect the interests of the people and ensure that the dividends of democracy reach every community across Enugu North Senatorial zone.

He reaffirmed his commitment to building a stronger, more united and prosperous senatorial district through responsive leadership and inclusive governance. (NAN)
