BROOKSTONE School has achieved top recognition at the British Council Recognition and Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards (BROCLA) in Lagos.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the ceremony held on Saturday at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The institution reaffirmed its position among Nigeria’s leading academic schools through exceptional student performances.
The highlight was Brookstone School, Port Harcourt student, Oreoluwa Awe, who secured two outstanding distinctions.
Awe emerged as the world’s top performer in English as a Second Language in the June 2025 IGCSE examinations.
She also earned the Best in Nigeria award across eight subjects, further strengthening the school’s academic reputation.
The achievement reflects Brookstone’s commitment to producing globally competitive learners through quality education and strong support systems.
Awe described her recognition as an “amazing feeling”, adding that her efforts had finally produced results.
“It shows that all the late nights and hard work really paid off,” she said.
The awardee credited her success to her teachers, family, and the support she received at Brookstone School.
“I couldn’t have done it without my teachers, my family, and the support I get at Brookstone,” Awe said.
She added that the achievement would motivate her to work harder and inspire other students.
“This makes me want to push myself even more and hopefully inspire other students,” she said.
Awe’s father, Afolabi Awe, expressed pride in his daughter’s accomplishment and dedication.
“Seeing Oreoluwa achieve this level of success fills me with immense pride,” he said.
He described the feat as evidence that discipline and encouragement can help children excel globally.
“It is proof that with discipline and encouragement, our children can truly excel on the global stage,” he said.
Brookstone School Principal, Bashiru Sadiku, said the recognition demonstrated the efforts of students and teachers.
“Oreoluwa’s recognition at both global and national levels reflects our students’ hard work,” Sadiku said.
He noted that the school’s supportive environment continued to drive excellence among learners.
“We are proud to see our vision of excellence mirrored in such outstanding results,” he added.
