Nasarawa State House of Assembly Speaker Danladi Jatau has characterised the outcome of the recently concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections as divine will, stating that he has accepted the result with humility and a gracious spirit.
Speaking on the outcome of the party primaries, Jatau noted that the exercise was conducted in accordance with the timetable and guidelines set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and acknowledged that electoral contests are by nature competitive producing both winners and losers.
He stressed that all participants must be willing to accept results while respecting established democratic norms and procedures.
He congratulated those who emerged successfully from the primaries and acknowledged that some aspirants who are dissatisfied with the outcome have chosen to pursue their grievances through appropriate party channels and other legitimate means, expressing confidence that such concerns would be resolved through due process.
On his own reaction to the result, Jatau said his response has been shaped by faith and political maturity.
He described himself as someone who has long embraced the spirit of sportsmanship, and said he views the outcome as an expression of God’s will one he has accepted wholeheartedly and in good faith.
The Speaker also expressed gratitude for the opportunities and accomplishments he has recorded throughout his political career, maintaining that every experience whether favourable or disappointing deserves to be met with appreciation and dignity.
He concluded by urging fellow party members and supporters to remain united and focused on the collective goals of the APC, emphasising the importance of cohesion as the party looks ahead to future electoral contests.
