AN APC Chieftain and former governorship aspirant in Lagos, Dr Samuel Mawuyàn Ajose on Sunday laid foundation of SMA Badagry Federation House in Ibereko, Badagry to ensure unity in the party.
Speaking shortly before laying the foundation, Ajose said the objective of the house is to gather all APC members in one place and discuss the development of the party in Badagry division.
According to him, when you have people scattered all over and there is no where to gather, it becomes an issue.
“So what we are doing today is to create an infrastructure in Badagry where everyone will converge together and be able to make decisions.
“The building, when completed will be a meeting point for all party activities in Badagry division.
“This is to enhance unity so that we can speak with one voice in Badagry Division,” he said.
Ajose said that the building would be completed within the next two months.
According to him, well completed, it will house any APC GAC members from Badagry and all the APC LGA chairmen in the division.
“This will make us to speak with one voice, we won’t be speaking with in different languages again.
“The objective of this project is to enable us to achieve 3.5m votes in the coming general election.
“This is not too much out of 6m registered voters in Lagos State for President Bola Tinubu and Dr Kadri Hamzat in 2027.
“Badagry and Lagos residents have promised us that if they gave us the ticket, now that they have given us deputy governor, they will vote for us
“Members of other parties have promised to decamp to APC and vote e-mass for us.
“So, from Monday, June 10, massive registration of Permanent Voters Card (PVC) will commence in this place.
“Buses will be provided for those that have not registered, if you are above 18 years or 18 years, you will be brought here for registration.
“Our target is 3.5m votes in Lagos,” he said.
Speaking after laying the foundation, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, the APC party chairman in Lagos said Ajose had brought clamour, infrastructure image and injected finances into the party in Lagos
According to Ojelabi, SMA Gold is the focus of the moment, God is using him for the development of the Badagry division and the state.
Ojelabi, who was represented at the occasion by Mr Tolani Sule, the Lagos State Commissioner for Tertiary Education, said the building would serve as meeting point for all party activities in Badagry Federation.
He said that the entire leadership of APC would have a place they can call theirs where they can always solve issues, meet and project the party.
Ojelabi said that the party would be expecting huge votes in the coming general election from Badagry because of infrastructure and investment Ajose had impacted in the division.
The Chief Imam, Badagry Division, Alhaji Abdulakeem Akewusola who led the league of Imams in Badagry, prayed for victory of President Tinubu, Hamzat and other candidates of the party in the coming general election.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that traditional rulers from the three councils, APC party chieftains, stakeholders and residents of Badagry and its environs graced the event. (NAN)
