A former four-term member of the House of Representatives, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will win a second term in office in 2027, stating that the opposition has already lost its opportunity to unseat the ruling party.

Speaking on a programme on Wednesday, Jibrin said the prevailing political realities and dynamics strongly favour Tinubu ahead of the next general election.

According to him, the ruling party remains firmly positioned for victory regardless of the opposition’s strategy or choice of presidential candidate.

Jibrin further argued that even if prominent opposition figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, unite under a common platform, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would still emerge victorious.

He maintained that the opposition’s internal divisions have further boosted the President’s chances, predicting a comfortable victory for Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

“I will say, based on the realities on the ground and the political dynamics we are witnessing, no matter how you analyse it or which candidate emerges, the opposition has already lost the race,” Jibrin said.

“I have always maintained that even if they come together, the President will still defeat them. Now that they are divided, his chances are even stronger. President Tinubu will win the election.”
