Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has declared that the state will work towards securing victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, urging political appointees to intensify grassroots mobilisation in support of the party.
The governor made the declaration during an interactive session with elected and appointed government officials at the Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano, according to a statement issued on Saturday by his spokesman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
Yusuf said Kano would deliver overwhelming votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, describing the president’s re-election as a shared responsibility of all APC members and government officials.
He said his administration remained committed to supporting President Tinubu and had no reason to apologise for doing so.
The governor directed all political appointees who had yet to register as APC members to do so immediately, stressing that every elected and appointed official must identify with the party and play an active role in strengthening its structures ahead of the elections.
He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring the APC emerges victorious in the presidential, governorship, National Assembly, State Assembly and local government elections.
As part of efforts to motivate political office holders, Yusuf approved the allocation of plots of land to more than 300 political aides, including Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, Senior Special Reporters, Special Reporters and Personal Assistants.
He further approved the payment of ₦100,000 to each beneficiary.
Speaking at the meeting, Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ismail Falgore, said the APC would continue to showcase the achievements of President Tinubu across the state.
According to him, constituency projects executed by members of the State Assembly with the support of the governor had strengthened the party’s popularity and positioned it strongly ahead of the 2027 elections.
Also speaking, the Kano APC Chairman, Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa, declared that the party was fully prepared for the 2027 polls, saying “the battle line has been drawn” with the Kwankwasiyya movement.
At the end of the meeting, elected and appointed government officials passed a vote of confidence in President Tinubu and Governor Yusuf, pledging to intensify grassroots mobilisation to ensure the APC’s victory in the 2027 general elections.
