Nigerian social media influencer and content creator Martins Vincent Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan, has distanced himself from a viral video making the rounds, in which he is alleged to have incited tension between Christians and Muslims.
The internet personality, who describes himself as the “online police”, refuted the claim in a recent post shared on his official Instagram page.
His clarification comes after a video circulated online showing a young man being questioned and assaulted after reportedly entering a mosque to pray.
In the clip, the man confessed to being a Christian and claimed he was sponsored by the Deeper Life Bible Church, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), and VeryDarkMan.
Reacting to the allegations, VeryDarkMan insisted he has never met the young man and has never sponsored “religious propaganda or narratives” before.

He has also offered ₦1 million to anyone who can provide useful information that leads him to the man in the video.
Speaking on the allegations, he said: “In this video, it is said that the young man sitting on the ground walked into a mosque to pray. Due to his movements in the mosque, they suspected him of something because he didn’t fit in, so they took him outside for questioning. Because he wasn’t speaking, they decided to beat him up.
“While they were beating him, he confessed that he is a Christian who is being sponsored by Deeper Life Bible Church, the Christian Association of Nigeria, and lastly myself, VeryDarkMan. He said that he and others are heavily sponsored by VeryDarkMan to create unrest and push a narrative and agenda that Christians are being killed by Muslims.
“I would like to clarify that these allegations are NOT true. I have never met the young man in my life, and I have never sponsored religious propaganda or a religious narrative in my life. I will never do anything that will cause mayhem or anything that will lead to the loss of lives.
“Lastly, I am giving one million Naira to anyone who can give me useful information about the man in the video.”
