A new wave of tension has emerged in West Asia after reports claimed that the United States may be preparing fresh military options against Iran. US President Donald Trump was reportedly briefed by US Central Command (CENTCOM) on possible strike plans during a high-level meeting that lasted around 45 minutes. At the same time, reports suggest that the US has sent thousands of tonnes of military equipment and weapons to Israel, raising concerns about a possible escalation in the region.
Trump Briefed by CENTCOM on Possible Strike Plans
According to reports from Axios, US President Donald Trump received a detailed briefing from CENTCOM Commander Brad Cooper and the Chairperson of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The discussion focused on potential military responses against Iran.
Officials said the briefing included different operational options. One of the plans discussed reportedly involved a “short and powerful” series of strikes targeting key Iranian infrastructure. The aim, according to the report, would be to increase pressure on Tehran and break the current deadlock in tensions.
Massive Military Shipment to Israel
In a separate development, reports from the Jerusalem Post stated that the United States delivered around 6,500 tonnes of munitions and military equipment to Israel within just 24 hours.
The shipment reportedly included air and ground munitions, military trucks, Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTVs), and other defense supplies. The equipment arrived through coordinated sea and air operations, docking at Israel’s ports of Ashdod and Haifa.
According to Israel’s Defence Ministry, the supplies were transported on two cargo ships and multiple aircraft and later distributed to different military bases across the country.
Ongoing Military Build-up in the Region
Israel’s Defence Ministry also stated that since the start of Operation Roaring Lion, the country has received over 115,600 tonnes of military equipment through hundreds of air and sea shipments.
Officials said the logistics operations are continuing and may expand further in the coming weeks. Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said the country remains prepared to act “at any moment” against its enemies, highlighting rising regional tensions.
Multiple US Military Options Under Consideration
Reports suggest that CENTCOM has prepared several military options beyond airstrikes. One proposal includes taking control of the Strait of Hormuz to secure global shipping routes. Another reported option involves deploying special forces to secure Iran’s stockpile of highly enriched uranium.
These plans, however, have not been officially confirmed by the US government.
Rising Tensions Between US and Iran
US President Donald Trump has repeatedly said that economic pressure remains his preferred strategy. He recently stated that sanctions and blockades on Iran are more effective than military bombing and warned that pressure could increase if Iran does not address concerns over its nuclear programme.
Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian warned that Tehran could still face military attacks even during negotiations. He said trust in the United States has been “completely destroyed,” pointing to past strikes during diplomatic talks.
Uncertain Situation Ahead
With military briefings, large weapons shipments, and strong warnings from both sides, tensions between the United States and Iran appear to be rising again. While no official strike has been announced, the situation remains highly sensitive, and global attention is focused on how events will unfold in the coming days.
