Troops of Sector 2 of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested two suspected logistics operatives linked to terrorists operating in the North-East during a security operation in Damaturu, Yobe State.
PrimeTimes Nigeria learnt that the suspects were apprehended at about 12:05 p.m. on May 11, 2026, following intelligence gathered through communication intercepts connected to the earlier arrest of a repentant member of the Islamic State West Africa Province.
The development was disclosed in a publication by a renowned security analyst, Zagazola Makama.
According to Makama, security sources revealed that the operation was carried out in Damaturu town, the headquarters of Damaturu Local Government Area of Yobe State, after security operatives acted on credible intelligence obtained during ongoing counter-terrorism investigations.
Preliminary findings reportedly indicated that one of the suspects had been assigned to collect ammunition from the second suspect for onward delivery to a terrorist commander operating within the region.
The sources added that the operation formed part of ongoing efforts by troops to dismantle logistics and supply networks supporting terrorist activities across the North-East.
Military sources further disclosed that the suspects are currently being held in custody while investigations continue.
Security operatives are also said to be intensifying efforts to track down the alleged terrorist commander linked to the operation and recover the ammunition allegedly meant for delivery.
“The suspects are currently in custody while efforts are ongoing to track down the alleged terrorist commander and recover the ammunition intended for delivery,” Makama stated.
The latest arrest comes amid sustained military offensives targeting insurgent activities and logistics networks in parts of Yobe, Borno and other states in the North-East.
