Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has reacted after comedian Bovi recreated her viral embarrassing moment with colleague, Funke Akindele.
While hosting the 2026 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards on Saturday night, Bovi Ugboma and South African actress Nomzamo Mbatha reenacted the ‘snub’ moment between Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham.
The duo staged a skit that referenced the incident from the premiere of ‘The Return of Arinzo’. Mbatha portrayed Akindele while Bovi played Abraham.
“Aunty, aunty Funke… mtcheeww. If I ever present an award to you, call me a bastard,” Bovi said jokingly, sending the audience into laughter.
Toyin, who was in attendance at the award ceremony, found humour in the joke, as seen in a viral clip where the actress was talking with Bovi about it.
She said she knew he would crack that joke and admitted that it was funny to her.
At Iyabo Ojo’s movie premiere, Funke Akindele had snubbed Toyin’s greetings. In a viral clip, Funke was captured sitting with Iyabo Ojo and Mercy Aigbe when Toyin walked to greet them. Many were surprised when Funke ignored Toyin’s greeting, leaving Toyin embarrassed.
Speaking out, Toyin vowed never to greet the actress again. According to her, if she ever greets Funke, then she is a bastard. She further revealed that she had unfollowed Akindele.
Surprisingly, Funke acknowledged Toyin’s pledge, by liking it on a blog’s page.
Toyin’s husband, Kolawole Ajeyemi appreciated her for constantly listening to him. He noted that Toyin wants to talk but was keeping silent because of him.
Iyabo Ojo, who is close friends with the two, revealed the cause of their renewed feud, stating that she can’t beg anyone again. She further revealed that Toyin was supposed to be a cast member in The Return of Arinzo but pulled out at the last minute.
Nkechi Blessing noted how life is too short for one to be dramatic. She told people to take cover as the tension is high.
Media personality, Do2dtun admonished the public to know whom they greet and whom they will never greet before they leave their houses. According to him, one should know one’s enemies, colleagues, acquaintances and friends. He noted that the industry is full of fake love, which is why one needs to know their real friends.
Veteran, Fausat Balogun ‘Madam Saje’ revealed that she has taken a step toward resolving their issue and has settled things with them. She said she called them to have everything removed from social media and appreciated the trio for taking the time to listen to her.
Veteran, Taiwo Hassan Ogogo, knocked them over their feud, noting how they’re too favoured to be fighting. He made it clear that he doesn’t interfere in disputes among women and stressed that any man who gets involved isn’t acting wisely.
Segun Ogungbe, calling them his sisters, urged them to embrace peace. He also urged them to encourage their fans to support his new movie in cinemas.
