The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has said President Bola Tinubu is pleased with the conduct of the party’s primaries across the country.

Yilwatda made this known on Wednesday night while speaking with journalists after a meeting with the President in Lagos.

According to him, the recently concluded internal party exercises demonstrated the APC’s competitiveness, with a large number of aspirants contesting for limited elective positions nationwide.

He stated that the high level of participation reflects the party’s growing popularity and acceptance among Nigerians, adding that many aspiring politicians now see the APC as their preferred platform.

The APC chairman also expressed appreciation to party supporters and Nigerians for their continued confidence in the party.

He noted that the primaries were conducted in an orderly manner, with few complaints recorded, describing the process as almost flawless.

According to earlier reports by Politics Nigeria, APC has commenced primary elections for various elective positions ahead of next year’s general elections.

Speaking further, Yilwatda said: “The President was very impressed with the logistics we deployed across the country, the tactics we’ve used.

“He has also been very impressed with the reduced number of incidents that we have across the country. He’s happy with what we’re doing.”
