President Bola Tinubu has floored his opponent, Stanley Osifo, in Jigawa state as he secured 206,420 votes to emerge the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election in the state.
In the result announced on Saturday evening in Dutse by Jigawa Governor, Umar Namadi, who is the Chief Returning Officer for the APC Presidential primary election, Tinubu was declared the winner after collating results from the 27 local government areas of the state.
According to Umar, Tinubu polled 206,520 votes cast by 206,520 accredited voters, leaving Osifo with zero vote recorded.
“My name is Umar Namadi, the Coalition Officer for Jigawa state. The total number of registered voters in Jigawa is 330,327 and the total number of accredited voters is 206,520.
“The scores by the two contestants is as follows, President Bola Tinubu scored 206,520 votes while Mr Stanley Osifor scored zero vote,” Namadi said.
While commending the local government coalition officers for their diligence and hardwork, Namadi said the result would be transmitted to the APC headquarters for the final declaration of the winner of the primary education.
In the same vein, Tinubu recorded another landslide victory at the Plateau State’s APC Presidential Primary Election.
The state governor, Caleb Mutfwang, who served as the Returning Officer for the primary, announced Tinubu as the winner of the polls on Saturday night in Jos.
According to Mutfwang, Tinubu scored 242, 023 votes to defeat his rival, Mr Tunde Osifo, who secured 303 votes.
The governor said that the figures were collated from the 17 Local Government Areas of the state.
“By the powers vested on me as the returning officer for the APC presidential primary in Plateau, I hereby certify that this is the summary of the votes collated in this state,” he said.
Mutfwang hailed the peaceful, transparent a credible conduct of the exercise in the state.
He commended the party faithful for displaying high level of maturity and discipline.
