Russia unleashes hell in Kyiv, fires 50 missiles, 700 drones, Video of massive devastation goes viral, Watch

Russia launched one of its biggest aerial attacks on Kyiv since the beginning of the war, firing more than 700 drones and missiles overnight, including the hypersonic Oreshnik missile. Ukrainian officials said at least four people were killed and over 80 others injured in the massive strike. Residential buildings, schools, warehouses and other civilian infrastructure were damaged across Kyiv and nearby areas. The large-scale attack came after Russia promised retaliation for recent Ukrainian strikes inside Russian-controlled territories, further escalating tensions in the ongoing war.

Massive Overnight Assault On Kyiv

According to Ukrainian authorities, explosions were heard across Kyiv as residents rushed into metro stations and underground shelters for safety. Videos shared on social media showed thick smoke rising from central parts of the city after a cruise missile reportedly struck near residential and government areas.

Russia launched one of the largest air attacks of this war on Kyiv this morning.

Russia said the attack targeted military and defence-linked facilities using Oreshnik, Iskander, Kinzhal and Zircon missiles. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had earlier warned that Moscow was preparing to use the Oreshnik hypersonic missile based on intelligence received from Western allies.

Russia Says Attack Was Retaliation

Moscow claimed the strikes were carried out in response to recent Ukrainian attacks in Russian-controlled Luhansk. Russian officials earlier alleged that a Ukrainian drone strike on a student dormitory in the region killed 18 people. However, Kyiv denied deliberately targeting civilians and said the operation was aimed at a Russian drone command centre.

The latest escalation has increased fears of a wider conflict as both sides continue long-range attacks deep inside enemy-controlled areas.

NATO On High Alert

The attack also raised concerns across Europe. NATO member Poland said it scrambled fighter jets during the assault because of rising regional security threats. Analysts believe the latest strikes mark one of the most intense phases of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in recent months.
