Gov. Dikko Radda of Katsina State has directed all political appointees to return to their respective Local Government Areas (LGAs) to ensure the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming primary elections.
Radda gave the directive on Wednesday after the State Executive Council meeting held at the newly inaugurated digital Council Chamber at the Government House, Katsina.
“We will dedicate this month to our party activities, including screening exercises and primary elections for aspirants seeking to contest elective positions under the APC platform.
“You must actively participate in the grassroots mobilisation process in line with directives issued by the party leadership,” he said.
The governor urged the appointees to ensure peaceful conduct throughout the exercise, stressing that unity and discipline remained critical to the success of the party ahead of the polls.
Radda warned against actions capable of creating division or tension within the ruling party, noting that the credibility of the primaries would depend on the conduct of party members and stakeholders at the grassroots.
The governor also appealed to APC members across the state to work collectively toward preserving the unity and stability of the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the APC announced its nationwide direct primary elections for the 2027 general elections, scheduled to take place between May 15 and May 23.(NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
