Protest has on Friday erupted at the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) as students vandalised the of office of paramilitary formation, Man O’War, over the death of their colleagues.
The deceased student whose name is yet to be confirmed reportedly passed away in the early hours of Saturday.
He was alleged to have sustained severe injuries after been physically assaulted by Man O’ War officials over alleged theft of N13,000.
In the wake of the student’s demise on Saturday morning, his colleagues stormed the Man O’War office.
Videos shared on X showed the students destroying the paramilitary’s sculptured logo before setting the office ablaze.
Thick black smoke could be seen emanating from the burnt office with some students seen smashing the walls of the office.
