The detained president of Miyetti Allah Kauta-Hore, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello Bodejo, has announced his withdrawal from the senatorial race for Taraba Central.
Bodejo announced his decision on Sunday evening through the Director General of his campaign council, Alhaji Adamu Isa.
Recall that Bodejo has been in EFCC custody since 8 May 2026 after being released from DSS custody on the same date.
It was also alleged that two prominent persons from Taraba visited him on 9 May 2026 and instructed him to withdraw from the contest as a condition for being released from EFCC custody.
Meanwhile, the campaign DG who announced Bodejo’s withdrawal from the contest also stated that the Miyetti Allah president has declared his total support for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Agbu Kefas and Senator Haruna Manu’s second-term bids.
According to Isa, the decision is to enable the candidates to provide the desired dividends of democracy to Taraba and Nigeria at large.
He also disclosed that Bodejo was not contesting to antagonise anyone in any way but was aiming to contribute to the development of Taraba State.
The DG, on behalf of Alhaji Bodejo, declared that politics was not a do-or-die affair, since both Governor Kefas and Senator Haruna Manu were already providing the needed dividends of democracy to the state.
He appealed to supporters and Tarabans as a whole to support President Bola Tinubu, Governor Agbu Kefas and Senator Haruna Manu’s second-term bids to attract more development to the state.
