A delegation of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders on Monday, visited the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, over the recent kidnapping incident in the state.
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that the delegation was led by the chairman of the PDP Interim National Committee, Kabiru Taminu Turaki, and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT), Senator Adolphus Wabara.
Confirming the development, the PDP, in a post via the party’s 𝕏 Account, said the delegation was in Ibadan to commissrate with Governor Makinde on the kidnapping and killing of teachers and pupils by terrorists.
“The Interim National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, alongside the Chairman of the Board of Trustees’ (BOT), Senator Adolphus Wabara, on a condolence visit to Governor Seyi Makinde.
“The delegation travelled to Ibadan to commiserate with the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, over the unfortunate kidnapping and killing of teachers and pupils in the state,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced Engineer Kale Kawu as its consensus gubernatorial candidate for the 2027 election.
This was announced on Saturday by former Senate President, Bukola Saraki.
He explained that Kawu emerged after extensive consultations with stakeholders of the Kwara PDP and other gubernatorial aspirants.
The former Governor of Kwara State added that other aspirants stepped down and supported the consensus candidate.
