Benue State Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) has affirmed eleven consensus candidates as its flag bearers for House of Representatives positions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The affirmation exercise was conducted across various federal constituencies in the state.
According to the party, the process was peaceful, transparent and well coordinated, with the participation of party stakeholders, officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, security personnel and supporters.
Speaking after the exercise, the Benue PDP State Chairman, Rt Hon Ezekiel Adaji, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise, describing it as orderly and democratic.
He said the emergence of the consensus candidates reflected the unity and collective resolve within the party ahead of the 2027 elections. He commended members and stakeholders for their maturity and cooperation during the process.
The candidates affirmed by the party include Engr. Tortiv-Ato Peter for Vandeikya/Konshisha, Mkeenem Moses for Kwande/Ushongo, Damsa Terris for Logo/Ukum/Katsina-Ala, Shior Emmanuel for Makurdi/Guma, Ukaa Emmanuel for Gwer East/Gwer West, and Ikyaagba Dominic for Buruku.
Others are Maj. Gen. Ede Ode for Obi/Oju, Emmanuel Sunday Ude for Otukpo/Ohimini, Adama Otalaka for Apa/Agatu, Aida Nath Ogwuche for Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo, and Nathaniel Ikyur for Gboko/Tarka.
The PDP chairman reiterated the party’s commitment to internal democracy, fairness and inclusiveness, assuring members of a level playing ground in all party activities.
He congratulated the affirmed candidates and urged them to remain committed to the ideals and vision of the party, while also calling on party faithful across the state to work together for the success of the PDP in the forthcoming general elections.
