An Osun State All Progressives Congress’ (APC) council chairman, Ezekiel Obiesun, has threatened to rig the forthcoming governorship election in the state over alleged imposition of candidate by the party.
Obiesun, the chairman of Oriade Local Government Area, made the threat while addressing some members of the APC.
As captured in a video shared on X on Saturday, the council chairman accused the party of presenting an indigene of Ijebu-Ijesha as the House of Representatives candidate.
He disclosed that he, alongside other party members in the council, had once worked for the emergence of an Ijebu-Ijesha indigene but was rejected by the same Ijebu-Ijesha people who worked against him.
The council chairman, who was speaking in Yoruba, vowed that he will equally work against the new candidate and rig the election should the candidate emerge winner.
“We’ve done it before by presenting an Ijebu indigene, but the Ijebu people are the one who said he will never get there and they worked against them.
“Now they want to present another Ijebu indigene and we will work against them. You can quote me anywhere. I, Bunmi Obeisun, will work them.
“If they enter, I will rig it. It’s where my party goes that I will go. It is where the party is going that Soliu is going and the whole world noted it yesterday.” He said.
Obiesun’s threat had sparked reactions from netizens who slammed the APC over the alleged plot to rig the 2027 General election.
