Nasarawa State House of Assembly Speaker, Danladi Jatau, two sitting House of Representatives members and Mohamed Nuraini Abdullahi Adamu, son of former All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, have lost in the APC primaries held on May 16, 2026.
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that the Nasarawa APC declared winners in four of its five federal constituencies. The results were announced by the Primary Elections Committee, chaired by Musa Shuaibu Guri.
In Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency, Daniel Ogazi won with 13,083 votes, defeating Jatau, who polled 5,873 votes.
Joseph M. Kaura scored 1,429 votes, Mohamed Nuraini Abdullahi Adamu got 769 votes, while Mohamed Yakubu Dikko polled 316 votes.
In Nasarawa/Toto Federal Constituency, Mohammed Al-Bashir Babae Yarima defeated Ari Abdulmumin Muhammad, who served from 2015 to 2023.
Yarima polled 31,796 votes, while Muhammad scored 9,039 votes. Abdullahi Jibril Alassi had 3,728 votes, while Ahmed Wadah Ikaka got 1,888 votes.
In Akwanga/Wamba/Nasarawa Eggon Federal Constituency, Tony Bala Shammah defeated incumbent lawmaker, Jeremia Umaru.
Shammah scored 38,333 votes, while Umaru polled 4,061 votes.
In Lafia/Obi Federal Constituency, Mohammed Ahmed Al-Makura was returned elected by affirmation with 45,000 votes after his challenger, Isaac Ali Kigbu, withdrew from the race.
The primary for Awe/Doma/Keana Federal Constituency could not hold on Saturday, as the committee said the exercise was still ongoing as of press time.
