TELECOMMUNICATIONS giant, MTN Nigeria, on Sunday hosted football fans in Ibadan at an exclusive English Premier League (EPL) watch party.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that fans watched Arsenal’s clash with Crystal Palace and other final-day EPL matches on giant screens.

The initiative formed part of the company’s commitment to connecting with Nigerians through football and expanding its corporate social responsibility efforts.

The watch party aimed to bring EPL excitement closer to supporters in a lively and communal atmosphere.

An Arsenal supporter, Mr Olagoke Ola, expressed delight over his team’s victory and praised their performance this season.

“We have waited 22 years for this dream. Arsenal fans should keep hope alive in spite of past mockery from rival supporters,” he said.

A Manchester United supporter, Mr Saheed Olagoke, admitted Arsenal played impressive football throughout the season.

“Manchester United will bounce back next season because reforms are ongoing within the club,” he said.

The event featured prediction contests, with winners receiving MTN-branded souvenirs, broadband MiFi devices and other prizes.

A winner, Mr Samuel Ayodele, praised MTN for creating opportunities for football lovers to socialise and enjoy memorable moments together.

Another winner, Miss Yemisi Ariwajoye, urged other companies to emulate MTN’s corporate social responsibility initiatives.

The event also featured football-themed games, quizzes, music and other entertainment activities. (NAN)
