Nigerian Afrobeat singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has called out the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, over alleged plot to truncate the re-election ambition of his uncle and governor of the state, Ademola Adeleke.
Davido labelled Oyetola the most desperate politician in the world.
This is coming under the heels of the attack and vandalisation of the Accord Party’s secretariat which is also used as the campaign base of the Osun state governor.
NPO Reported that suspected hoodlums had on Monday stormed the party’s secretariat, smashing its windows and destroying Adeleke campaign banners.
The hoodlums left with inscriptions written on the secretariat’s fence which read ‘Say No To Authomatic Ticket’ in reference to the emergence of Adeleke as the Accord Party’s consensus candidate.
While some had considered the attack an internal crisis with the party, Adeleke’s camp accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of orchestrating the attack.
The allegation would be followed by a statement issued on Monday evening by the state’s Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightment, Kolapo Alimi, who raised alarm over alleged deployment of a killer squad by the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu.
Alimi alleged that the squad led by one CSP Moses Lahor were deployed for an operation aimed at eliminating Accord Party leaders and government officials in the statement.
The commissioner further claimed that the squad held a meeting with the APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who alleged donated three operational vehicles to them.
While no direct reference was made to any of the incidents, Davido in a post shared on his X handle on Tuesday accused Oyetola of orchestrating all the plans channeled against Adeleke’s re-election bid in what he described as an act of desperation.
“The most desperate politician in the world is @GboyegaOyetola very embarrassing” He wrote.
In a separate post shared earlier, the afrobeat singer and ardent supporter of Adeleke held that Oyetola’s plans against the governor will not work.
“OYETOLA YOUR PLAN NO GO WORK.” He wrote.
