Retired Major General Ibrahim Manu Yusuf will on Thursday, May 21, 2026, launch a book titled Counterterrorism and Counterinsurgency Operations in Northeast Nigeria in Abuja.
The event is scheduled to hold at the Sani Abacha Hall of the National Defence College by 10:00 am.
According to a statement issued on behalf of the organising committee by retired Brigadier General SK Usman, Vice President Kashim Shettima is expected to attend the event as the Special Guest of Honour and Chief Unveiler.
The statement noted that the book documents Nigeria’s experiences and lessons from counterterrorism and counterinsurgency operations in the North-East.
Yusuf is a former Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force and former Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy.
The organisers said the event would attract governors, lawmakers, military chiefs, diplomats, scholars and other dignitaries.
The book will be reviewed by the Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Eghosa Emmanuel Osaghae.
The organisers urged media organisations to submit names of accredited reporters and cameramen for accreditation before May 19, 2026.
