A disturbing incident has been reported in Olokoro, a community in Abia State, where a man identified as Nzubechukwu was allegedly apprehended after attempting to take away a two-week-old baby from its mother.
According to local reports, the suspect stormed the mother’s residence under unclear circumstances and allegedly tried to forcefully take the newborn. The situation quickly escalated into a struggle as the mother resisted the attempt, drawing attention from nearby residents who intervened and ensured the suspect was restrained before being handed over to authorities. In a more disturbing twist, it was further alleged that during the struggle, Nzubechukwu attempted to sexually assault the mother. This claim has heightened public outrage within the community, with residents calling for a thorough investigation and strict punishment if the allegations are confirmed.
It was reported that during questioning, the suspect reportedly confessed that a woman from Amizi Olokoro had allegedly contacted him and offered ₦100,000 to bring a baby to her. The identity of the said woman is yet to be verified by law enforcement, and authorities have not confirmed whether any arrest has been made in connection with the alleged accomplice.
