Toyin Abraham slams critic for discrediting Uche Montana

Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has slammed a critic who dragged her into the ongoing debate over colleague, Uche Montana’s YouTube views.

Kemi Filani reported a day back that the light-skinned actress’s new movie, Monica 2, had hit 4.3 million views on YouTube within 24 hours of its release.

‎The sequel, according to Nairametrics, had
‎generated approximately 4,403,874 views within its first 15 hours after debuting on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. ‎This had surpassed Monica’s early performance and reinforced the filmmaker’s influence in Nollywood’s digital distribution space.

‎The news left internet users in disbelief, as many noted that Uche isn’t that big a star to amass such views.

Reacting to it, a critic dragged Toyin into the discourse, noting that the actress’s latest movie, Imisi, only hit 3 million views in a week. Meanwhile, Montana is claiming she amassed 5 million views in barely 24 hours.

“Toyin Abraham, who has a huge fanbase, joined with Imisi fans in one week to hit 3M, and Uche Montana movie Monica part 2 is hitting 5M+ views barely 24hrs, I doubt it’s organic views”.

Responding to the critic, Abraham told her to leave Uche alone and let Uche enjoy her moment.

“Pls, leave me out of this and let her enjoy her moment and time. Won sepe fun yi ni, abi kilode gan”.

Uche Montana began her acting career in 2015 with a debut in Poison Ivy. She gained wider recognition through the Africa Magic series Hush (2016–2017), which earned her the MAYA Awards Africa for Best Supporting Actress and marked her breakthrough in the industry.

‎Over the years, she has featured in several Nollywood productions, including Banana Island Ghost, The Eve, and Made in Heaven, building a reputation for versatility and emotional depth in her roles.

In recent years, she has expanded into screenwriting and production, aligning with industry trends that see creatives take on multiple roles across filmmaking.
