Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) said on Thursday that they attacked a US airbase at around 4:50 a.m. local time. The attack came after what Iran described as a US strike near Bandar Abbas airport early in the morning, according to Tasnim news agency.
“Following this morning’s aggression by the invading U.S. military against a location on the outskirts of Bandar Abbas Airport using aerial projectiles, the American air base that served as the source of the attack was targeted at 4:50 am (0120 GMT),” the Guards said, according to IRIB.
The Guards did not say where the US base is located. They warned that if the US carries out more attacks, Iran will give a “stronger and more decisive” response.
Earlier, the US had targeted Iranian drones near Bandar Abbas airport late on Wednesday night. In response, Iran carried out retaliatory strikes on a US airbase.
