THE All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo has congratulated Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory in the party’s presidential direct primary election.
The party also commended Hope Uzodimma for providing leadership that ensured peaceful and successful conduct of the exercise across the state.
The commendation was contained in a statement issued on Sunday in Owerri by Onwuasoanya FCC Jones, the APC State Publicity Secretary.
The party said Imo recorded the highest number of votes for Tinubu and ranked among the top five states with the highest turnout during the primaries.
According to the party, the outcome reflects APC’s popularity and dominance in the state as well as public satisfaction with its performance in governance.
The party said many residents expressed confidence in the achievements of the APC-led administrations at both federal and state levels.
It added that several residents who were unable to participate in the exercise regretted not being registered members of the party.
The APC said it was confident of recording higher figures for all its candidates during the general elections.
The party pledged to work towards delivering at least one million votes for Tinubu in the presidential election.
It also assured of overwhelming victories for all APC standard bearers in the forthcoming general elections.
The party thanked members, officials and volunteers for ensuring what it described as one of the smoothest and most peaceful primary elections in the state.
The APC also appreciated residents of Imo for cooperating with the party during the exercise and urged them to sustain their support ahead of the general elections. (NAN)
