“I’ll end Boko Haram attacks in nine months” – Labour Party guber candidate in Adamawa declares

Senator Ishaku Abbo, Labour Party governorship candidate in Adamawa, has pledged to end Boko Haram and bandit attacks in the state within nine months if elected governor in 2027.

In a post shared on social media, Abbo said he had begun grassroots engagements with youths in Yola and Guyuk ahead of the governorship election.

His words: “On the streets of Yola and on the streets of Guyuk. Engaging directly with the youths. Speaking the language they understand.”

The former senator said, under his watch, Adamawa state would become a reference point for governance after the 2027 elections.

“Adamawa state will become the governance best practices reference point after 2027 with SIA as Governor,” he said.

Abbo also promised to tackle insecurity within a short period if elected, saying: “I will end Boko Haram and bandits attacks on our communities in 9 months.”

The politician pledged to establish industries capable of generating over 1.3 million direct and indirect jobs within six years.

“We will establish industries that will employ over 1.3 million people in 6 years direct and indirect jobs and boast Adamawa state revenue,” he said.

Abbo further promised to increase the state’s internally generated revenue (IGR) from about N20 billion annually to over N1 trillion within seven years.

“I will increase our revenue generation from the pitiable about N20Billion annual IGR to over 1 trillion Naira in a short term 7 years,” he said.
